Hi,

The last question about identifiers for images/figures was reminiscent of some of the discussions on the last FORCE11 open source community call (2/17). They haven’t put up the recording on youtube yet, but I would expect it to be up soon. The agenda is at: CryptPad

There were several people talking about making science papers (esp. figures) more shareable/modular/distributable. One such was https://refigure.org .
