For the Science Magazine, what are the criteria for setting up the options/values for ethnicity? Are the purposes for these ethnicity data collection, acceptance for publishing, political, research, funding, or anything else? Many countries have dozens or even hundreds of legal ethnic groups. Will there be an ethnicity drop-down for all the major ethnic groups within a country? The US has immigrants and children of immigrants from more than one hundred countries. Will each be considered an ethnicity? China has 56 legal ethnic groups. Why list only two, Han (the largest ethnic group) and Uygur (the fifth largest ethnic group)? Will Science try to include the major ethnic groups of other countries, like India and more?
